YK Design is a boutique architectural practice that offers a rare blend of enthusiasm, practicality and creative design flair for private residential projects, including new build, enlargements, re-modelling and refurbishment.
We provide a highly customised service, with Yasemin working personally on each project, leveraging her years of expertise. Services provided include:

Yasemin Kirkpatrick
YK Design was founded in 2005 by Yasemin Kirkpatrick RIBA.
Trained in the Architectural Association, Yasemin was accepted for pupillage under Peter Rice of Ove Arup and later worked at Ian Ritche Architects.
She cemented her career as a senior architect on the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre & Hong Kong Speed Station, before moving back to the UK where she was appointed as project leader for the Met Office Headquarters in Exeter.
Yasemin transitioned into residential property and decided to set up her own practice in Henley-on-Thames: YK Design was born.
Our Approach
For almost 20 years, we have been creating unique, well considered and timeless architecture and interiors for our clients. We are passionate about design and provide innovative solutions with outstanding spatial design and elegance in form and detailing, with resultant enhancement in property values. We turn ordinary buildings into homes that are architectural gems. We enjoy ‘all the stuff that matters’ inside a home, such as sustainability, efficient living spaces, enhanced use of natural light, sensitive lighting design and the added elegance of bespoke joinery, furniture, fabrics, and art. We work closely with our clients every step of the way and approach each project with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail regardless of budgets or scale. We are great communicators and negotiators, as evidenced by our remarkable success rate for achieving planning approvals that exceed expectations. Our in-depth experience of working with contractors helps ensure the efficient and harmonious delivery of construction projects.
